The latest report from the Microsoft AI Economy Institute estimates that 16.3% of the global working-age population has adopted artificial intelligence.
Usage has increased by 1.2 percentage points compared to the first quarter, representing an 8% rise over six months.
AI adoption is higher in the Global North (24.7%) than in the Global South (14.1%).
Although the United States leads in the development of infrastructure, with nearly 4,000 data centers (visualcapitalist.com), the penetration of AI among the American population is lagging: it ranks 24th worldwide with a 28.3% adoption rate.
The United Arab Emirates and Singapore stand out clearly, with AI adoption rates of 64% and 60.9% respectively.
