Everything was created by numbers, weights and measures (Isaac Newton).
Never before have topics of all kinds sparked so much division and quarrels within families, friendships, social networks, and the media
This proliferation of opinions and opposing views is reinforced by the exponential flow of information and an increasingly complex world, which lends itself to multiple interpretations.

Although figures are generally not sufficient to fully describe an issue, and although the choice of figures is itself a bias, they nonetheless help to objectify the analysis, broaden the perspective, and make comparisons.
NumOnly thus aims to translate information into digital language, without unfounded or subjective interpretation.
But if ” the figures do not lie, it sometimes happens that liars encrypt ” (Jacques Duhamel).
That is why the sources, always cited, are carefully selected on criteria of reliability and relevance.
These sources can come from:
- of public institutions, national or international,
- of non-profit organizations or associations,
- of general or specialized newspapers and magazines,
- national and international research and survey institutes,
- of experts producing reports and analyses,
- of encyclopaedic sites.
The reliability of information is systematically checked by checks for data consistency, comparisons between different sources and taking into account criticisms and contradictions.
In case of doubt, the information is not published.

The topics covered are broad, ranging from the environment, to societal issues, science, economics, geopolitics, sports, opinion polls, the media…
Publications may:
- describe in a few figures the stakes and the scope of an issue,
- compare the stakes, the regions and the eras,
- present the evolutions over time,
- evoke opinion surveys to measure societal changes,
- provide intrinsically digital information: revenue, price, indices, rates,…
Posts are always related to a current topic or to a recent publication.
Format :
There is no predefined format, but each article must be concise and clear. It must be read and understood in less than 3 to 4 minutes and of course, since we are at NumOnly, it must be based on immediately significant figures.
Don’t forget, NumOnly has the modest ambition of delivering to you, with synthesis, simplicity, and rationality, the state of the world!
